Sheila Conlin

President – The Conlin Company



Sheila Conlin owns and operates a full service casting, production and development facility in Los Angeles with additional resources in New York and the United Kingdom.  Conlin specializes in casting and development for reality television. She and her company also provide host and “expert” casting for commercials as well as motion pictures.
Starting out in the entertainment industry as Phyllis Diller’s tour manager, Conlin moved on to become an agent with Agency For the Performing Arts (APA), representing music and comedy talent. Talent representation was a natural segue into producing clip shows and reality shows. 


Conlin has been involved with reality TV from the beginning.   She helped define and shape the criteria and systems needed to bring real people to the TV screen.  Many of them you can still see today either hosting or starring in their own shows.  Also, Conlin quickly identified a casting niche needed for UK producers which led to The Conlin Company provides casting and pre-production services to UK-based producers in the U.S.
Conlin’s most recent producing credits include:  “Chef Academy,” on Bravo.    Previous Producer and Co-Producer credits (FOX, VH1, Lifetime) are “Nanny 911,” “Marriage 911,” “It Girls,” “Guinness World Records Primetime,” “Hidden Victims: Children of Domestic Violence,” “TV’s Greatest Christmas Moments,” “Oops The World’s Funniest Outtakes,” “You Asked For It,” “Kidsongs,” “Animals are People Too,” and the hit series “When Animals Attack.”


Conlin is responsible for casting some of the most successful reality series for primetime network (ABC, FOX, NBC):  “True Beauty,” “Hell’s Kitchen,” “Secret Millionaire,” “Kitchen Nightmares,” “Nanny 911,” “The Moment of Truth,” “Who Wants to Marry My Dad,” “Paradise Hotel,” “Forever Eden,”  “The Swan,” “The Complex,” “Love or Money,” and  “Mr. Personality.”

Conlin is currently developing shows for television with ZigZag, Eyeworks, and Super Fine Films.   With each company she has created high-concept and provocative projects with talent from London, Norway, Los Angeles, New York and Nashville.

Conlin has functioned in virtually every aspect of production including, Executive Producer, Producer, Co-Producer, Story Producer, Associate Producer, Line Producer, Production Manager, and Director of Talent Development and Research.  Conlin was also the assistant technical director at The Los Angeles Theater Center.


Beginning in April 2010, Conlin will be hosting a series reality TV seminars.
