–       Patty’s Farm Market & Deli – Manager/Owner’s Son 1997-2009

ABOUT:

–       Bernie is the son of a successful produce company owner in Pittsburgh.

–       Although his father created the “produce empire” to pass on to Bernie and his brother, Bernie walked away from it to pursue his own culinary dreams.

–       Bernie realized that cooking was his passion after he was asked to cook for a bridal shower and received a standing ovation from the guests for his food.

–       While Bernie may only have seven years’ experience, he works well under pressure and currently does over 500 covers a day.

–       During his short career, Bernie has already had the opportunity to advance to a managerial position, but declined so that he could learn as much as possible on the line.

–       Chef Ramsay’s temper is nothing compared to his fathers, so pleasing him “should be a piece of cake.”

–       Making it to Hell’s Kitchen would prove to Bernie’s father that he did the right thing by stepping away from the family business to pursue his culinary dreams!
