–       Danielle has overcome a lot in her 25 years.  She is the daughter of a Sous Chef, and struggled with being an overweight, lesbian, “farm girl” living in poverty when she was younger.

–       Her father taught her knife skills at age 7, and she followed her culinary dreams through high school and then to San Francisco to attend Le Cordon Bleu.

–       Danielle’s girlfriend was recently diagnosed with stage 3 cancer, and all of Danielle’s money goes to help her girlfriend through chemotherapy.

–       Danielle is a self-proclaimed “bitch,” and knows that her chefs probably talk about her behind her back.

–       She is tough both in and out of the kitchen, and in her free time she skates in a roller derby league.

–       She would love to compete in Hell’s Kitchen to prove her mother wrong when she told her that there was no future in the culinary field.
