–       Gabriel Martinez idolized his grandfather growing up.  Every Sunday his family would go to church and then he would shadow his grandfather in the kitchen or out on the grill.  He would eat macaroni and cheese everyday after high school and started to experiment with different ways to make it.

–       Gabriel went to culinary school and did an internship in Spain.  His Executive Chef always yelled him but was told it was because he had a great deal of potential.

–       He moved to Los Angeles and began learning the ropes on the kitchen line.  In a matter of five years, he became the Sr. Sous Chef of Katsuya in Hollywood, one of the most popular restaurants in LA.

–       He loves to be under estimated and then jumping on the line and impressing everyone.  He loves hearing criticism and his strongest tool in the kitchen is his voice.

–       Gabriel sometimes procrastinates but maybe it’s because he loves the drama and pressure with deadlines!
