–       Jim’s career didn’t start in the kitchen; he was a hockey player—one of the Top 100 when he graduated high school.  His position was “the fighter,” and he was brought onto the ice to take out the best player on the opposing team.  He was able to put his Sicilian temper to good use.


–       After Jim shattered his wrist, he began to pursue a culinary career, and considers his background in hockey an asset because he has natural leadership and fighting skills.


–       Jim is married, and his wife makes over $100k a year as a lawyer; he would like to be the main breadwinner for the family to help support their baby on the way.


–       The most difficult thing he has ever experienced was the death of his brother in a car accident.  He’d like to win Hell’s Kitchen in his memory.
