ABOUT:

–      Karl started working in the culinary industry at Hooters at 13 years old because he needed to help care for his family.

–      Cooking relieves him from any problems he has in life.  It’s an escape from the real world.

–      Outside the kitchen Karl is a very laid back and easygoing guy.  Inside the kitchen he’s a big ball of get shit done.  He keeps his nose down and push and drives himself and everyone around him to put out great food, fast.

–      He says just because he’s a big boy doesn’t mean he’s lazy or unfocused; he works hard.

–      He’s fast and correct. He doesn’t like to mess up – he does it right the first time.

–      Karl’s been through a lot to get to where he is so of course he’s ridiculously competitive.

–      He said if it comes down to it he will have no problem throwing someone under the bus.

–      This kid refuses to lose.  He’s relentless, tough and passionate.  All the qualities of a Hell’s Kitchen winner!
