– Michael is a good Latino son, and he is passionate about his work as a Chef and wants to make his mother proud.

– Sees cooking as a way of giving himself to others.

– Formerly a shop machinist who knew he was destined to do more with his life, that is when he applied for his first cooking job and fell in love.

– As Executive Chef of a hotel, his responsibilities include overseeing all banquets, two restaurants, a bar and all room service.

– Currently his mother is battling cancer, he is staying in San Antonio as a way to help his mother out even though it is stifling his cooking career.

– He stays up late at night reading through different cooking magazines and becomes jealous of what bigger city chefs are able to accomplish.

– He has a “tool box” of kitchen utensils that he brings with him everywhere.
