This feature was a three part series and was the beginning of an entirely new genre of programming called “Animal Shockumentaries”. To this day, these types of shows continue to be a successful format for television. The late Robert Urich was the host and maintained a cool, even demeanor with a brief, conversational commentary throughout the show combined with minimal sensationalism. Many of these clips were accumulated from home movies while others were professionally-shot (but unplanned) footage of a variety of animal attacks on people in various situations.
